Temporary Insanity (5/1/07)

Yankees are in last place!  Yankees **** this year! Blah, Blah, Blah.   I love listening to all these fairweather fans of baseball who now have a new lease on life because the great super power has fallen.  Such a David and Goliath atmosphere.  What all fans fail to realize is that Baseball would be a sad sport without the Yankees.  Their dominace over the years created baseball and baseball fans.  All over the world there are sports and sports teams but none are as well known as the Yankees.  Imagine Baseball without them.  I always said that if your only goal is to beat the Yankees, than the Yankees have already won!  Even in your teams success; you’re happiest just being ahead of the Yanks.  In mind, you still take 2nd place!  (Boston Fans)

Yanks have been plagued with injury on their rotation.  Yanks are forced to use the farm.  How bad is that really?  through this we may find a diamond in the rough.

Just wait till mid season.  the yankees will fire back hard as they always do and all of the nay sayers will once again go quiet.

Vicious Snake Bite Bleeds the Blue

Bad day yesterday for the LA boys.  A fall to the Diamondbacks places them in 2nd.  Wolf was to blame having the worst outing this season.  How many runs can one pitcher give up before he is pulled?  Ask Wolf.  Bad game all around unless you are a Diamondback fan.  Dodgers need to come together.  If L.A doesn’t pick up the next 2 games a small hill will begin to form.  The Dodgers blame the 5 hour game on Sunday for their poor performance but i do not believe that Wolf pitched that one.  A classy franchise like LA loses to a 2nd rate ball club that should be playing in the Minors!  The D-Backs?  What a stupid looking uniform.  It’s something you would expect from High School Baseball.  I was excited to learn that they were changing the uniforms but i think they have gone backwards.  Dodgers need to take back what’s theirs!!!

Angels sweep Seattle (4-23-07)

The Bad News Mariners showed up in Anaheim yesterday.  The Mariners were looking pretty ridiculous  as the threw wild pitches, wild throws, poor comunication in the in field; all that lead to the Angels completing the task and sweeping the Mariners in their 3 game stretch.  I write a lot about hit manufacturing.  I love it!  I love it more than a big HR.  There is nothing more exciting than watching hit after hit, moving runners, stealing bases to position a score, true baseball management of the offense.  That’s what the Angels did yesterday in their win against Seattle.  No big HR’s or Grand Slams from Vlad, just solid hitting performances that continually added to the score board.

Angels tie the Oakland Slobs for first as they host the American League Champs today in Anaheim.  Way to go Halo’s!!  Angels win 6-1

Yankees Desperation doesn’t pay off (4-23-07)

Just another horrible day.  Great day for baseball but a horrible one for Yankee fans everywhere.  Yanks put Wright on the mound, a rookie, against the Red Sox in Fenway and they murder his ERA.  The Red Sox did something unheard of as they hit 4 consecutive HR’s off of Wright making him the lonliest man in the dugout.  Ouch! You can’t say that the Yakees didn’t put runs on the board though.  The Yanks sore 6 runs off of nine hits.  Just horrible pitching as even Petitte, a starter, is brought in on relief for an inning.  Desperation never pays off as the Yankees looked foolish; proving that they had no other options in their arsenal.  Accept the fact that you have injuries.  Await the return of your line up this week and settle the score in New York.  Dont waste every pitcher you have on the roster for this game.  I understand its the Red Sox but the Red Sox haven’t swept the Yankees at home in 17 years!  I don’t think we have to panic about dropping this one do you?  On the other hand; yankees have swept the Red Sox in both cities many times.  So give the baby it’s bottle.  Re activate your starting line and settle this in New York on Friday.  Yankees lose 7-6

Dodgers prove; it aint over till it’s over! (4-22-07)

Is it True?  is the hottest team in Baseball is the L.A. Dodgers?  Call the press because the Dodgers hold the highest winning percentage in the Major League! a .722 from the Boys in Blue.  How long has it been.  The Dodgers are putting together the most entertaining game on the diamond.  You have to tune in for every game is a show!  Let’s look at yesterday…

Penny started off really shakey with a walk and a wild pitch along with a throwing error get’s a man on 2nd and allows the Pirates to score 1st.  Nomar achieves a sliding double and Kent hits a single to bring him home to tie.

Trouble for penny again as he loads the bases and walks in a run.  A wild pitch later leads to a second.  Penny was not in control last night so he needed the Blue Crew to back him up as they did in a big way. Valdez reaches 3rd in the ninth off a throwing error on his steal attempt.  a wild pitch later allows Valdez to tie it up in the bottom of the 9th.  Into the 10th and the Manufacturing of hits begins like a Ford Factory.  Dodgers only need 1 run but why let it go at that.  Martin steps up and ads insult to injury as he hits a Grand Slam right into the Dodger bullpen sending the message to the guys to take the rest of the night off, i got this one!  Dodgers expolde 7-3.

Angels Fly High, Seattle sinks Low. (4-22-07)

2 straight wins and the Angels pull from last to 2nd place with 1 game seperating them from Baseball’s most ghetto team, the A’s.  Is anyone questioning the talent on this team?  I didn’t think so.  Angels get back their biggest gun in Vlad as he starts the game with 2 run HR in the first. Angels lead 3-0. Angels score another 4 in the 5th with an awesome play at the plate by Anderson bringing the lead to 7-0. (Catch the highlight)  All is perfect for Colon to go his 7 and hand the ball to the bullpen.  Maybe that wasn’t the best idea.  Sometimes Baseball 101 doesn’t always pay off.  Oliver comes in and the Mariners make him pay taking him for 5 runs including a Grand Slam.  (Must be the Name)  Angels now only lead by 1 run. The comeback stops there though as K-Rod takes the 9th clearing the side with a pop up and 2 K’s.  3 up 3 down.  I said it all along.  Enjoy the tiny, injury caused slump while it lasts.  The Angels are coming back in a big way.  Angels win 7-6.

Brew Crew has the Astros seeing stars (4-22-07)

If you are not watching the Brewers than you are missing a great show.  Brewers are surprisingly really good this year.  Strong pitching and equal batting has placed them top of their division.  Yesterdays game was a pleasure to watch as Capuano sits down 6 batters going 6 innings and only giving up one run.  Those who scored the game for the MLB made an error as they scored Capuano as giving up 4 runs but that wasn’t the case.  We’ll get back to that in a minute.  Cap holds them and the Brew Crew bats start a swinging. Astro’s strike first in the 2nd but the Brewers answer as Miller scores an RBI double. Wouldn’t you just love the name "Miller" as a Brewer? I’d hate to have the last name of Coors.  What if your name was "Bud Coors".  That would be akward.  Back to Baseball.

Weeks gets a GR double off a ridiculous fielding attempt by Houston that does not result in an error to set up JJ Hardy to smash a 2 run shot in the 3rd. Hardy repeats that performance in the 5th with a single shot over the center wall.  Villanueva takes over for Cap and HE gives up 3 runs as the Astos attempt to claw their way back.  It was all for nothing though.  Brewers had this from the get go.  They are becoming a very exciting team.  They really remind me of the 96 Yankees.  Let’s see if their success can be just as great.  All i know is that the Brewers are becoming one of the hottest tickets in Baseball.  Make sure you tune in.
