Temporary Insanity (5/1/07)

Yankees are in last place!  Yankees **** this year! Blah, Blah, Blah.   I love listening to all these fairweather fans of baseball who now have a new lease on life because the great super power has fallen.  Such a David and Goliath atmosphere.  What all fans fail to realize is that Baseball would be a sad sport without the Yankees.  Their dominace over the years created baseball and baseball fans.  All over the world there are sports and sports teams but none are as well known as the Yankees.  Imagine Baseball without them.  I always said that if your only goal is to beat the Yankees, than the Yankees have already won!  Even in your teams success; you’re happiest just being ahead of the Yanks.  In mind, you still take 2nd place!  (Boston Fans)

Yanks have been plagued with injury on their rotation.  Yanks are forced to use the farm.  How bad is that really?  through this we may find a diamond in the rough.

Just wait till mid season.  the yankees will fire back hard as they always do and all of the nay sayers will once again go quiet.

Vicious Snake Bite Bleeds the Blue

Bad day yesterday for the LA boys.  A fall to the Diamondbacks places them in 2nd.  Wolf was to blame having the worst outing this season.  How many runs can one pitcher give up before he is pulled?  Ask Wolf.  Bad game all around unless you are a Diamondback fan.  Dodgers need to come together.  If L.A doesn’t pick up the next 2 games a small hill will begin to form.  The Dodgers blame the 5 hour game on Sunday for their poor performance but i do not believe that Wolf pitched that one.  A classy franchise like LA loses to a 2nd rate ball club that should be playing in the Minors!  The D-Backs?  What a stupid looking uniform.  It’s something you would expect from High School Baseball.  I was excited to learn that they were changing the uniforms but i think they have gone backwards.  Dodgers need to take back what’s theirs!!!

Yankees Desperation doesn’t pay off (4-23-07)

Just another horrible day.  Great day for baseball but a horrible one for Yankee fans everywhere.  Yanks put Wright on the mound, a rookie, against the Red Sox in Fenway and they murder his ERA.  The Red Sox did something unheard of as they hit 4 consecutive HR’s off of Wright making him the lonliest man in the dugout.  Ouch! You can’t say that the Yakees didn’t put runs on the board though.  The Yanks sore 6 runs off of nine hits.  Just horrible pitching as even Petitte, a starter, is brought in on relief for an inning.  Desperation never pays off as the Yankees looked foolish; proving that they had no other options in their arsenal.  Accept the fact that you have injuries.  Await the return of your line up this week and settle the score in New York.  Dont waste every pitcher you have on the roster for this game.  I understand its the Red Sox but the Red Sox haven’t swept the Yankees at home in 17 years!  I don’t think we have to panic about dropping this one do you?  On the other hand; yankees have swept the Red Sox in both cities many times.  So give the baby it’s bottle.  Re activate your starting line and settle this in New York on Friday.  Yankees lose 7-6

Dodgers prove; it aint over till it’s over! (4-22-07)

Is it True?  is the hottest team in Baseball is the L.A. Dodgers?  Call the press because the Dodgers hold the highest winning percentage in the Major League! a .722 from the Boys in Blue.  How long has it been.  The Dodgers are putting together the most entertaining game on the diamond.  You have to tune in for every game is a show!  Let’s look at yesterday…

Penny started off really shakey with a walk and a wild pitch along with a throwing error get’s a man on 2nd and allows the Pirates to score 1st.  Nomar achieves a sliding double and Kent hits a single to bring him home to tie.

Trouble for penny again as he loads the bases and walks in a run.  A wild pitch later leads to a second.  Penny was not in control last night so he needed the Blue Crew to back him up as they did in a big way. Valdez reaches 3rd in the ninth off a throwing error on his steal attempt.  a wild pitch later allows Valdez to tie it up in the bottom of the 9th.  Into the 10th and the Manufacturing of hits begins like a Ford Factory.  Dodgers only need 1 run but why let it go at that.  Martin steps up and ads insult to injury as he hits a Grand Slam right into the Dodger bullpen sending the message to the guys to take the rest of the night off, i got this one!  Dodgers expolde 7-3.

Dodgers Hang some Pirates, few witnesses left to see

Impressive game for L.A. last night.  Dodgers clobber Pittsburgh.  Though a great victory, it’s almost like winning at TIC TAC TOE when you defeat the Pirates.  Not that you are dissatisfied with the win,  you just don’t expect to lose.  Well that’s how the Boys in Blue played last night. As a machine that expected to dominate.  It all started and ended with a fabulous performance by Wolf.  Wolf was in trouble in the first but he settled down to fan 10 and completely shut down the Pirates offense.  Wolf hasn’t gone 7 innings all year and even though he dominated Pitts, Grady Little still wouldn’t allow him to go past 6.  I think Little is being too conservative.  Starters need to go to 7 innings.  it’s your bullpen Grady that needs your considerstion.

Lets talk about that glorious 3rd inning shall we.  You remember, the one where the Dodgers left Armas with a 18.90 ERA this season.  3rd inning the bats come alive for the D’s as Pittsburgh has to face 11 batters.  Dodgers are incredible as they knock in 6 runs on 5 hits including a great shot to right field by Wolf scoring 2 and ending Armas’s night at only 2.2 innings pitched.

Did you catch that awesome catch from Brady Clark in the 7th?  it was outstanding.  Try to catch a recap on their website.

Only issue i have with that game yesterday was the audience.  I don’t understand Dodger fans and i am writing as someone who grew up in L.A.  In the 7th inning as usual 50% of the crowd leaves.  The Dodgers were up huge and they still leave.  When do we stay the entire game?  i have been to many games and I never leave until the final out.  In Baseball you never know what can happen.  The Yanks proved that 2 days ago as they comeback in the bottom of the 9th to score 6 runs and win the game.  What’s with L.A.?  Will you see a petition on a Ballot to Change Baseball to a 7 inning game in Cali? Dodgers don’t have a 7th inning stretch they have the 7th inning exit.  Too bad for them.  Dodgers win 10-2.

Yanks pull a rabbit from a hat in the 9th.

Can you believe the streak the bombers are on? Call it a winning streak or call it luck but the Yankees seem unstoppable!  Yesterday’s conclusion of the Cleveland series proves it.  Yankees are down 6-2 in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs.  50% of the fans are now in the subway’s and on the expressway.  Maintenance crews are bringing out the hoses to water down the dirt.  Janitors are collecting their brooms and dust pans and sports writers are putting their final touches on their articles about the Yankees huge loss today when the magic happens.  Phelps steps up and hits a solo shot to left center changing the score and momentum of the game towards the bombers. Posada hits a shot down center and Damon brings him home with a hit of his own.  Jeter hits into left and brings home Damon as Abreu readies himself for a single to put Jeter into scoring position.  The score is now 6-5 in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs.  Who steps up to the plate?  the hottest bat in baseball, A-Rod.  Now, if movies have taught us anything then A-rod should begin hearing the musical score creeping up behind him, the camera should be panning the faces of the crowd showing their hope and desperation, a close-up on the pitcher and then the confident close-up on A-Rod showing the determination in his face and through a slow motion swing, he should get the game winning hit.  Well, that’s the movies and this is real life.  I wonder if A-Rod heard that music because not only did he get the hit he nails it over the center field wall to win the game!  his 10th of the year.  It was pandemonium in New York.  it was unheard of and it marks the 2nd huge comeback win for the Pinstripe Posse.  Yankees win it in the 9th, 8-6.
